Today I had a five-minute oral examination in the afternoon...
When I entered the room, teacher had found that I was very nervous. She said, "Why are you so nervous?" I answered, "I have no confidence in speaking English." My teacher smiled and said, "Oh, come on!"
At the beginning, teacher asked me some question about reuniting on Chinese New Year. Unfortunately, I was so nervous that I could not express myself very well. Gradually, we started to focus on "the real home" because I found she was confused by my answer. The home in Changhua is the real home in my mind, not the Taichung home. Then she asked some question such as "What will you do if your sister comes back from Kaohsiung?" or "Are you wearing a new jacket? It is so blue like a new one. I like it!" However, she asked me a word that I don't know. "What's this on your hand?" "Well...I don't know how to say that.” But I still tried my best to describe it... "When I was born, there is... " "Oh, I know! It is a birthmark, right?" It was so happy that she understood what I wanted to say. After 5-minutes talking, the quiz was over. Even though I knew it was just a conversation, I can't help but be nervous. It will be a beneficial experience for me to practice my English speaking.
By the way, my friend, Megan, told me that she could hear what I was talking at that time.
It is so terrible! I think I should practice to speak softly, too.
